New solar PV, with or without a battery, surveyed and fitted by our own MCS certified engineers.
Solar panel repair in Glasgow
A system that has stopped generating, or is generating less than it used to, whoever fitted it. We trace the fault and put it right.
Inverter repair in Glasgow
A red light, an error code or a blank screen. Same-week repair or replacement on SolarEdge, SMA, Fronius, Growatt, Solis, SolaX and other makes.
Servicing and battery storage in Glasgow
An annual health check that catches faults early, and battery storage added to the panels you already have. See what a solar battery costs.
Moss along the bottom edge of the panels, or gulls nesting underneath? See solar panel cleaning and solar panel bird proofing. Not sure what the fault is? Start with solar panel repair. Useful guides: why solar panels stop working, our solar panel maintenance checklist and how long solar inverters last.

Solar in Glasgow
Glasgow’s residents have paid for solar on the council’s own roofs.
In February 2026 Glasgow City Council confirmed that its first Community Municipal Investment, the first scheme of its kind in Scotland, had raised £1 million from small investors and was fully subscribed ahead of the deadline. The money backs the recently completed installation of 1,700 solar panels on eight council buildings, including Kelvin Hall, which are expected to generate around 700,000 kWh of electricity a year and pay for themselves in six to seven years. The council has identified a further 36 buildings for solar, and a second £1 million round was due to open in March 2026 for greening projects around schools and care settings.
A six-to-seven-year payback assumes the kit keeps working, and on a Glasgow roof that means dealing with wet weather, moss and an inverter that will not last as long as the panels. Cleaning keeps output up, and if the display is blank or flashing an error, inverter repair is normally far quicker than replacing the whole system.

Why L&R
What you get from L&R in Glasgow.
We know Glasgow roofs
Glasgow’s solar sits on red and blonde sandstone tenements with shared pitched roofs, the 1930s bungalows and semis of Bearsden, Giffnock and Newton Mearns, and the post-war estates at Drumchapel, Castlemilk and Easterhouse. Tenement roofs are shared, so access and who owns which slope has to be settled before anything goes up, and many were reslated decades ago on old timber. The city’s weather comes off the Atlantic: it is one of the wettest in Britain, so moss, damp in roof-top isolators and water tracking into connectors are a normal part of looking after panels here, and the west-facing slopes take the worst of it. Many of the systems we’re called to were fitted in the feed-in tariff years and are now on their original inverter.

Questions
The things people ask before they ring.
Not answered here? Call 0800 156 0191, Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm.
Do you cover Bearsden, Newton Mearns, Paisley and East Kilbride?
Yes. Our engineers cover the whole of Greater Glasgow — the G postcodes, Renfrewshire, Lanarkshire and East Dunbartonshire — and out to Ayrshire and Inverclyde. Call 0800 156 0191 or tell us your postcode in the fault finder and we’ll confirm cover.
My Glasgow installer has stopped trading. Can you still look after my system?
Yes. We repair and service systems fitted by any installer, including installers who are no longer trading, and we work on any make of panel, inverter or battery. See solar panel repair and solar panel servicing.
Is solar worth it in Glasgow’s weather?
Yes. Panels generate from daylight, not heat, and a well-placed array in Glasgow still produces a worthwhile share of a home’s electricity over the year, with long summer days making up for short winter ones. What matters more is the roof: its direction, its pitch and what shades it. A battery lets you use more of what you generate rather than exporting it. An engineer surveys the roof and your usage before we recommend anything, and you get a clear written quote. See solar panel installations and battery storage.
