Solar in the East of England
Suffolk’s group-buying scheme has put 32,000 solar panels on East of England roofs.
In September 2025 Suffolk County Council reported that Solar Together Suffolk, the group-buying scheme it runs with all of the county’s borough and district councils and the buying specialist iChoosr, had installed 32,024 solar panels at 2,651 Suffolk households over its seven years, along with 1,768 battery storage systems. That adds up to 11.7 MW of solar capacity on homes across the county and around 1,900 tonnes of carbon emissions saved, and the council confirmed the scheme was open for registration again for 2025.
Thousands of homes across the East of England now have panels that went in through a group-buying round, and the earliest of those systems are several years old. Whoever installed them, we service and repair them, and our engineers cover Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire from our base in Chelmsford.
