Solar in Hull
Hull is fitting solar to twelve council buildings.
In December 2025 Hull City Council announced Phase 1 of its rooftop solar PV programme, covering twelve council sites including Stockholm Road Depot, Ings Library and Resource Centre, Woodford Leisure Centre, the Hull and East Riding Museum, Park View High Dependency Unit and the Lemon Tree, McMillan, Marfleet and Acorns children’s centres. Works start in 2026 and are expected to take around six months, with an estimated 220 tonnes of carbon saved each year. Three of the sites are funded by £350,000 of Mayoral Renewables Funding, which the council says cuts their payback period by up to five years, and the whole programme feeds into the Hull 2030 Carbon Neutral Strategy.
The council’s sums only work if its panels keep producing for the full payback period, and that is exactly the position of a homeowner in Sutton Park or Kingswood with a ten-year-old array. If your output has dropped or the inverter light has turned red, solar panel repair sorts it, and a yearly service stops the next fault going unnoticed.

Why L&R
What you get from L&R in Hull.
We know Hull roofs
Hull is flat, low and close to the Humber. Wind off the estuary and the North Sea works on fixings and roof-top isolators, gulls treat arrays as a perch, and salt in the air is harder on connectors than it is inland. The housing runs from the Victorian terraces of the Avenues and Newland, through the 1930s semis of west Hull and Anlaby, to the big post-war estates at Bransholme and the new-build at Kingswood, so we see every roof type and every generation of inverter. Many of the systems we’re called to were fitted in the feed-in tariff years and are on their original inverter.
